If you're at all familiar with computers you'll be familiar with a term called the Front Side Bus (FSB). QuickPath is a similar technology, in that it provides a pathway for the processor to communicate with the rest of the system (specifically, memory).
The 1600MHz Front Side Bus that is so popular on modern gaming computers is actually slow compared to QuickPath. The inital offering of QuickPath actually clocks in at 25.6GHz - twice the data rate of 1600MHz.
QuickPath is also Intel's answer to HyperTransport, the FSB replacement technology used by AMD in their systems.
