Touch screens are a nifty device. They allow you to physically touch a portion of the screen, and the computer will know what part of the screen you touched (generally reproducing that in the form of a mouse click).
The problem with touch screens as far as gaming is concerned is that they're just not very useful. While it might make menu navigation a bit quicker (touching the spot on the screen as opposed to moving a cursor), their usefulness beyond that is questionable, because a couple of things become far more difficult than they originally were:
Movement in a 3d environment - especially camera movement - is hindered, and accuracy is sacrificed.
While they might be a nice addition to a car computer, touch screens aren't going to be making their way into a gaming computer anytime soon - unless they come up with a cheap input device that you can fully customize as a replacement for keyboard input.
