iBuypower 501-GE2 AMD Gaming Desktop PC

sometimes a deal comes along that looks too good to be true. Sometimes those deals turn out to be real, and that's the case with this iBuypower 501-GE2 Gaming Computer. At $550, this beast comes with:

• AMD Athlon X2 5000+
• 2GB DDR2-800, 250GB RAM
• 250GB SATAII Hard Drive Space
• NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS 512MB
• DVDRW
• Vista Home Premium

While it doesn't come with a monitor (as is typical with cheap gaming computers) it does come with an operating system and a keyboard and mouse. Now, I'm not too hot on the 2GB of RAM, but you have the ability to upgrade to a maximum of 4GB of RAM.

Everything else is pretty solid in this machine. The processor will last for a few years, as will the graphics card (though you may end up picking up a mid range nVidia card to replace it next year). The only downside is the lack of a monitor and the limited 250GB of hard drive space.
